AM therapeutic services students began their clinical experience at Stonerise Belmont last week. Students are required to complete 55 hours of long term care experience to be eligible to take the certification test to become a Certified Nurses Aide. With supervision from instructor, students will assist residents with activities of daily living which include bathing and dressing. Clinical also gives students the opportunity to use other learned skills such as communication and safety practices.

MOVTI students took in 17 computers, tablets, and phones from the community to repair. It was a great success, and the students got a chance to gain real world experience working on computers along with customer service skills. If you missed this community week, please look for our next one that will be towards the end of March.

Maleah Weber from TCHS and Ivy Hogue from RCHS are enrolled in Advanced Medical Preparedness. Both of these students earned a 100% on their final Medical Terminology test, which consisted of 350 prefixes, suffixes and root words that are used in "medical language."
This morning, emergency services students were called to an emergency simulation in the graphic design classroom. Mr. Morehead sets up scenarios throughout the school for the students to practice their skills. They must assess the scene and determine the best course of action to treat their "patient".
Quentin Owens, a senior at Ritchie County High School, completed his Online Pharmacy Technician Training Program. He will soon begin working toward the hours needed in the clinical setting to be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician certification test. Quentin's training at MOVTI will help prepare him for transitioning to his post-secondary education and then to pharmacy school.
