🔧🎄 Mistletoe and Max paid a visit to Industrial Equipment Maintenance today and wasted no time pushing buttons on the shaft alignment trainer.

Mistletoe was clearly in charge of quality control (from the toolbox, of course), while Max took over the touchscreen like a seasoned technician.

If anything ends up perfectly aligned tomorrow… we’ll just assume the elves had something to do with it. 😉

Pre-Engineering & Drafting students collaborated with Mr. Becker (Carpentry instructor) to design and build a MOVTI Christmas tree for Pleasants County's Community of Trees Celebration - from just a photo! Welding students helped out by welding the internal rod and creating the MOVTI star. Go check it out at the Pleasants County Family Support Center's 2nd Annual Community of Trees Celebration. Admission is free! 📅 Thursday, December 18th 🕠 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM 📍 301 Washington Street

Mistletoe and Max spent some time in the Drafting program today getting hands-on with the 3D printer. Of course, they couldn’t resist creating a little Christmas magic! ✨

From festive decorations to tiny holiday trees, these elves proved that creativity and technology go hand in hand. Safe to say the North Pole would definitely approve of this setup! 🎅🎁

Law & Public Safety students recently organized a food drive competition to support local food pantries and help feed families in need this holiday season.

Each program was challenged to collect the most donated items per student in the program and all donations were split evenly and will be distributed to food pantries across the four counties served by MOVTI.

Thank you to all the students who participated and helped make a positive impact in our communities!

Last week, MOVTI’s graphic design and multimedia students had the pleasure of welcoming Jared Thompson, Professor of Digital Media Design at West Liberty University!

Jared spent time reviewing WLU's program offerings before leading a fun, hands-on activity with each group. Our multimedia students especially enjoyed participating in a light painting portraiture activity and the results were absolutely amazing!

Thank you, Jared, for sharing your expertise and creativity with our students!

Today’s adventure took Mistletoe and Max into the information technology classroom, where they decided the best way to learn was to completely tear apart a computer. 😆

Mistletoe carefully examined the parts like a seasoned IT pro, while Max grabbed the screwdriver and went straight to work. Whether they’re upgrading RAM or just seeing what happens when you push buttons… these elves are fully committed to hands-on learning! 🔧💻

Let’s just hope they can manage to put it back together correctly...

Mr. Haught searched everywhere for Mistletoe and Max this morning and finally found them tucked away in the diesel shop where they were fast asleep after all the mischief they caused on yesterday. ❄️😄

Even the busiest elves need a little rest after spreading holiday cheer (and chaos). Don’t worry… they’ll be back on the job in the next program soon! 🎄✨

Mrs. Knight stepped away from her desk for ONE MINUTE, and that was all the time Mistletoe and Max needed to take over the office's door control system.

Mistletoe monitored the screen like a professional door attendant, while Max stood outside striking poses for the camera. 😂🎄

Don’t worry… they didn’t let anyone in without proper ID. 😉

🎄✨ Max went full Clark W. "Sparky" Griswold, Jr. today as he bravely tackled the Christmas lights on the MOVTI tree - all 10,000 of them. Mistletoe supervised just in case things got electrifying.😆

When the lights finally kicked on, Mistletoe proudly declared:
“It’s a beaut, Clark. It’s a BEAUT.”

Current holiday spirit level: Griswold.

MOVTI Weather & Emergency Closing Procedures Quick Guide for Families

Because MOVTI serves Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, and Wetzel Counties, schedules can vary by closing type and reason. Please see the infographic to learn how we operate during weather and emergency situations.

MOVTI Weather & Emergency Closing Procedures (Quick Guide for Families) Because MOVTI serves Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, and Wetzel Counties, schedules can look different for each district. Here’s how we operate: When Pleasants County Schools Close Snow/Cold Weather: If Pleasants County Schools are closed, MOVTI is closed for all students. High Water: If Pleasants closes for flooding, MOVTI may stay open if Rt. 2 and Rt. 16 are safe and at least one of our other participating counties (Ritchie, Tyler, Wetzel) is open. Virtual Assignments (NTID Days) When a participating county closes, MOVTI checks whether that county is using a “Closing Day” or a “Non-Traditional Instructional Day (NTID).” If it is an NTID, students from that county will receive virtual assignments from their MOVTI instructors. Assignments are typically posted on Microsoft Teams. Two-Hour Delays If Pleasants County is on a 2-hour delay, MOVTI runs on a normal schedule for students from other counties, if conditions are safe. If Ritchie, Tyler, or Wetzel County is on a 2-hour delay, those counties usually do not send morning students to MOVTI. Early Releases If Pleasants County has an unscheduled early release, MOVTI remains open for the other counties, as long as travel is safe.

Health Science students had an amazing experience at the Discover Day! - Medical Careers at the Washington County Career Center on December 5th!
They explored the facility, jumped into hands-on skill demonstrations, tested real healthcare equipment, and connected directly with industry professionals. It was an energizing day of learning, discovery, and future career inspiration!

Thank you to WCCC for this amazing opportunity!

Good news! Max is back on his feet! And to celebrate, he and Mistletoe headed straight to our Photography & Digital Media studio for a festive photo shoot.

Today’s models? Their loyal GI Joe friends, fully decked out in holiday spirit. 🎄

Mistletoe took charge of the creative direction (naturally), while Max handled the studio lights. Together, they set up the perfect winter scene and captured some truly elf-worthy holiday magic.✨📷

After his daring climbing stunt in carpentry yesterday, Max found himself in the caring hands of Nurse Mistletoe today! 👩‍⚕️🩺

She wasted no time getting him bandaged up, propped on a tiny hospital bed, and stocked with holiday-themed Band-Aids!

Max is resting comfortably (though he might be milking the situation just a bit 🤭), and Mistletoe is proving she’s a natural in the health sciences program.

Don’t worry, with a little TLC, he’ll be back to mischief in no time...

Mistletoe and Max took their curiosity to the carpentry shop today and things got a little more adventurous than planned! 😅

The two decided tape measures made the perfect climbing ropes, but Max quickly learned an important lesson: when you’re working at “elf-height,” you definitely should be wearing a harness!

Stay tuned… something tells us he might be making a visit to another program for a check-up soon! ✨

Today, Mistletoe and Max made themselves right at home in Mrs. Redin’s Future Educator's classroom and decided it was the perfect place for story time!

They gathered up Mrs. Redin’s adorable stuffed animal friends, found a comfy spot under the Christmas tree, and began reading aloud like true classroom helpers. Max turned the pages while Mistletoe did the voices. According to their audience, it was a 10/10 performance. 😄✨

These two are learning all about early childhood education… one cozy story at a time.

Stay tuned to see where their adventures take them next! 🎅📖✨

Today Mistletoe and Max rolled into the Automotive program… literally! 🚗✨ Max decided to take on the very serious task of repairing the Batmobile, and Mistletoe was put in charge of handing over the tools. 🛠️
Let’s just say… Max may have channeled his inner Grinch for a moment when he asked for a 3/4 wrench, not a 5/8. (Stay focused, Mistletoe! 😉)

Mistletoe and Max were up to big mischief this morning! They staged their very own photoshoot and officially declared themselves the MOVTI “Elves of the Quarter.”

They even managed to use the printers (don’t ask us how!) and filled our frames with their best shots. What perfect timing because today we’re welcoming the Tyler County 4th Graders for a tour! We’re sure Mistletoe and Max will be thrilled to show off their new title.
