2-4-6-8... who do we appreciate? Our second spotlight this week is looking at our Embedded Math and Entrepreneurship instructor, Mr. Sandy!
The students from Graphic Design, Multimedia Publishing, and Education worked together with the second graders of St. Marys Elementary School to create a Halloween-inspired art project that was both spooky and fun. The project involved students sharing their knowledge of drawing and watercolor techniques with the second graders, while also incorporating the children's creative ideas and input into the final product. Throughout the project, the students were able to collaborate and learn from one another, making it a valuable and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and contribute to the community by engaging with the younger generation!

Our Tech or Treat event is a school-wide effort that we're very proud of, and we'd be thrilled if our communities could come by our center to have some spooky fun and see what we're all about!

Entrepreneurship and Project Lead The Way students worked together and utilized their design-thinking brains during a fun competition today! Students were given two pieces of paper (no tape!) to create the tallest tower that also would support a full bottle of water. All groups did a great job of collaborating and coming up with great ideas!
Students in the Law & Public Safety Program got to practice handcuffing and lifting a fingerprint during their tour of Washington State Community College's Criminal Justice Program. They also got to tour the Marietta Police Department. A special thanks to CJ Professor Stephanie Harlow and Captain Nedeff and Sergeant Kramer of MPD.
Students had a great time working together on some creepy/cute advertisements for our upcoming Tech or Treat event! The Drafting, Multimedia Publishing, Carpentry, Future Educators, and Entrepreneurship students all collaborated and came up with some really awesome spiders. A big shoutout to Mrs. Shirley Hupp for lending a hand too!
MOVTI programs help students build confidence and leadership skills for their future careers. With Career and Technical Education, students are in control of their own learning, which is great for developing independence and taking charge of their future.

Law & Public Safety students got a workout in without realizing it by passing sand bells down the line in relays.
We are still looking for businesses to help make our community Halloween event a success again this year. In 2022, we had almost 1,500 participants come through the gate!
So... how can you help?
-Set up and pass out candy/goodies at our trunk or treat
-Donate to help buy supplies for activities
-Sponsor an activity (bounce house, laser tag, etc.)
Set up for trunk or treat begins at 4pm. Gates open at 5!

This morning students were engaged and working hard on projects to prepare them for their future careers.
Emergency Services students have been busy learning and working on skills! Backboard practice, Stop the Bleed Training and they had their first emergency call simulation.
The Graphic Design and Drafting students have been working together to create some awesome items for the CTE Administrator's Conference. They have made screen printed totes, t-shirts, and laser engraved travel mugs. It's great to see different programs collaborating towards a common goal. Hands-on learning is a win for everyone involved!
Parents, be sure to check with your student. A printed midterm report will be sent home this week!
This week's instructor spotlight - Automotive instructor, Mr. Kevin Burns!
Project Lead The Way (Pre-Engineering) students worked on their first activity. They had to design a bean bag launcher! They had 15 minutes to come up with a design, 10 minutes to build it and 10 minutes to test. Talk about working under pressure!
This week, it is our diesel technology instructor Alex Mossor's turn in the spotlight!
